Caroline Whitehead Streater is a certified mediator practicing in South Carolina. With thirty years of courtroom experience, she is in a unique position to help parties reach a resolution of disputes through mediation. Her extensive trial experience in the magistrate, circuit, and family courts of South Carolina allow her a breadth of knowledge that will benefit parties.
Caroline served as a Richland County Summary Court Judge for over fourteen years. As a judge, Caroline presided over a wide variety of civil litigation, including personal injury and property damage, landlord-tenant conflicts, contract and other business disputes. In addition to her service on the bench, Caroline has taught on a variety of legal topics in many settings, including the National Judicial College, Columbia College, Midlands Technical College, the South Carolina Bar Association CLE program, and the South Carolina Summary Court Judges’ Association. Caroline’s time representing 2 state agencies afforded her experience with drafting and reviewing contracts, advising on employment issues, and addressing litigation filed under the South Carolina Tort Claims Act. Trained in mediation skills since 2003, Caroline is certified by the South Carolina Supreme Court’s Board of Arbitrator and Mediator Certification.
